Pumpkin Teddy Wine Bottle Tag

Since I needed another autumn-themed wine bottle tag, I decided to make one using Acorns Pumpkin Teddy.    I love his little acorn hat.I printed this image several times.  Once on my white CS so I could color the teddy and 3 times on book papers for the layers of the pumpkin, acorn and leaf.    To color them, I dabbed on ink using a sponge and then added a little shading using Copic markers.   My family and I  visited Disney World last week and attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party.  We had so much fun!   I thought I would share a couple of photos of our costumes. I was Rosie the Riveteer.  (I hate pictures of myself!  But, I am biting the bullet and sharing anyways.)Here is a picture of all of us.   My DH is a replacement ref.  (We ran into some other Wisconsin-ites and they really gave him some ribbing!)  The girls, my daughter and a friend, are black cats.  (Hey, check out that bicep!  Thank you Jazzercise!)  Although in this photo it doesn’t look like many people are dres…

Ornament Angel

Today I have a card using Whimsy and Stars Studio’s Ornament Angel digital stamp to share with you.  I wanted to play around with hexagons in my design.    I used the die to cut out the hexagons and also to emboss my kraft card stock.   I don’t know if it shows up too well in the photo.I decided to paper piece the ornament.  One of my Spellbinders circle dies was the perfect size.  Since the cards seemed a little flat, I added a few more folded circles to the ornament to give it some dimension.Thank you for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week!Supplies:Stamps:  Ornament Angel (digital stamp) from Whimsy and Stars Studio Inks:  None Papers:  Neenah Crest solar white CS, Close To My Heart Mistletoe paper pack, Papertrey kraft CS Tools:  Sewing machine, Big Shot, Spellbinders oval & circle nestabilities, Die-namics hexagon dies, Copic markers Embellishments:  Copic black multiliner, Sakura gold glitter pen, misc. twine & button Challenges:Make it Monday - always Anything Goes One …

Deck the Halls Birdie

I have another Christmas card to share with you today.  I bought this image last year and never had the chance to color it.  If you have followed my blog for a while, you probably have noticed that I love birds and have several bird baths and feeders around my yard.    So, I just couldn’t resist this cute image.I colored the little bird to look like a black capped chickadee because they are frequent visitors to my feeders during the winter months.  I am still having problems with my ink smearing.  I tried to color this image very carefully but if you look closely you might see some smears.   [Please don’t look that close :)  ]   I even broke out my Stickles and Glossy Accents for this card.  I usually forget to use them or, if I remember, I am too impatient to wait for them to dry so I just skip it.  I’m glad I had the patience to wait this time.  (Or maybe I should be happy that dinner was ready so I had an excuse to walk away so it could dry.)Have a great week!  Thank you for stoppi…

Snowball Boy

I’m dreaming of a White Christmas…..   Okay, not really.  It is way too early to start thinking about snow, but I am thinking about Christmas cards.  I know if I don’t get started now, I’ll never have enough done by December.      I had this cute image from Whimsy and Stars Studio in my files and realized I never used him.   So to set things right, I had to make a Christmas card using him.     I ended up doing some paper piecing because I was having issues with coloring.  Although I am using the same printer, ink cartridge, paper and markers that I always use, suddenly I am having issues with the ink from the image smearing.   I even tried heat setting the image and am still having issues.  Has this ever happened to anyone else?  How did you fix it?  Its driving me nuts! I’m going to keep this short today.    Have a great week!  Thank you for stopping by!**Edited to add -   Don’t forget to check out the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.   I’m the featured stamper!  Su…

Gingerbread Boy

'Run, run as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!' – From the classic children’s story, “The Gingerbread Man”.As usual, when I am crafting, I get something stuck in my head and it just runs over and over on replay.    Any guesses as to what was in my head when I was making this card?  Well this little Gingerbread Boy from Whimsy and Stars Studio is just too cute to eat.  I printed him on DP and used my sponges and Copics to add some extra character.   I was thinking about adding some CE to the holly berries, but to be honest, I just didn’t want to wait for it to dry.  (And I was worried about smearing it or otherwise messing him up.)This little cutie is my first Christmas card for 2012.  I shudder to think of how many more I need to make.  At least I am getting a [somewhat] early start this year.    Have you started your holiday cards?  How about shopping?  (I haven’t started mine yet.  I am planning a lot of on-line shopping this year.  I love…
